I thought a G-license could only good for up to 10 people in that vehicle, otherwise you were driving without a valid license for the number of passengers you were carrying ($200 to $1000 fine for not having the proper license), a fine for not having valid insurance for the purpose for which you were driving (a $5000 to $25,000 fine in Ontario), with the possibility of becoming financially ruined if ever you were to get into an accident. If you put 10 or more passengers in a van that could hold 12, you would've needed a commercial license (I think it's an Ontario Commercial Vehicle Operator Registration (CVOR)). You would've had to keep the number of passengers at 9 or below, even if it could've held 12). I could be wrong (someone correct me if I am), but I thought that despite being able to can rent a van that size, you cannot carry that many passengers in it with just your G license.
